We offer a full and attractive year long programme of drama workshops. The school year runs from September to the end of May (with Summer courses running throughout the month of July). The programme is designed so that each student has a sense of involvement and ownership of his/ her own work.
Early in the year “team spirit” and good group dynamics are quickly established so that each student finds their place within their group and together with their facilitator they embark on an exciting journey of weekly workshops, acting training, performances, productions, specialized workshops with top professionals, trips and events.
Huge emphasis is placed on interaction, participation and fun. There is a non-competitive element to the work done at Act One and we avoid assessing children as achievers and non achievers, giving every individual the opportunity to develop confidence and self pride. Our year programme is structured to accomadate the
needs and interests of each particular age group from workshop
material, themes and issues explored and plays written or devised.
Whilst teaching methods are the same for all students , the
content of the work varies depending on the age group. |
