Over the years Act One has always held innovation, originality and creativity as central to its artistic policy.To this end many of our performance pieces / productions are original works written especially for or devised with our students. Plays we have produced vary in content from strong issue based pieces where the students explore themes very relevant in their day to day lives to complete fantasy works  or to adaptations of novels or legends. Annually productions are held in “real theatres” eg, The Project Theatre, The Civic Theatre  and in recent years the Players theatre, Samuel Beckett Centre in Trinity college has become home to many of our production runs, The intimate black box space at Players  and the welcoming attitude of its staff  has provided a great atmosphere for Act One students to showcase their work and talents .

Students get the opportunity to experience a real production schedule - wardrobe fittings, “get ins” , technical and dress rehearsals.Many top professionals  come on board to work on Act One productions, including writers, directors lighting, costume designers, choreographers, fight co-ordinators etc.
