Act One
School of Acting & Dramatic Art was founded in 1997. We offer
a full and attractive year long programme of activities including
a regular programme of Drama Workshops and the staging of a performance
piece at the end of each year. Our practice is to provide the best
possible Drama experience for children aged 5 to 18 years. Act
One aims to promote the personal, social and aesthetic development
of the child as an individual, giving equal importance to the child
as part of a group.

Progress Accounts
Understanding and welcoming the value placed by parents/guardians on feedback, Act One gives a 'Progress Account' mid-year with observations on each student, twice yearly. All feedback is support orientated, aiming to both encourage the child and to promote communication with parents/guardians.
Newsletters
Parents/Guardians are also kept up to date on activities taking
place within the School at regular intervals in the form of a
School Newsletter
Theatre Trips
We believe children have the right to experience the very best in Irish Theatre. During the year there will be a Theatre Trip to see a play which has been carefully chosen for each age group. Dates for Theatre Trips are subject to Company Productions. Commitment
For those with a willingness to learn and participate the benefits and enjoyment are great. As there is much to be covered in each workshop and rehearsa, discipline is required. Participants should be prepared to listen, learn, tolerate and take part. Participants must also show an open and enthusiastic attitude towards workshops. Fun and enjoyment are very much a part of Drama but so too is discipline and respect. Act One reserves the right to dismiss any student who does not comply with the above standards of respect and discipline. Fees and Payment
Please ensure that you have received relevant fee and payment details. School fees are all inclusive, ie. Travel, Trips, Theatre tickets, Workshops, Special & Guest Workshops. Tutors
All our Tutors are trained professionals from Irish and International Film and theatre and are experienced in working with children and young people.
